Until early March 2009, this site was owned by Matt, under the domain name 15 Minutes to Riches. You will notice that he is the author of posts until this date.
Upon purchasing the site, I changed the name to Wealth Itself. Anybody looking for a website name in 2009 knows how difficult it is to find one that is both short, easy to remember and is representative of the theme that you want the website to be about. Since I didn’t want the site to be just about making money, I focused on a couple of keywords – wealth and prosperity, as they can be defined to mean more than getting rich. I settled on wealth, as prosperity is less likely to be used when discussing individuals . But, I was not able to find a domain name that was both short and easy to remember. I tried a search of ‘wealth’ in Bob Dylan lyrics and found the following stanza in I Pity The Poor Immigrant : I pity the poor soul <substitution of immigrant> who falls in love with wealth itself.
Since I believe that the accumulation and preservation of wealth is just one aspect of life, I thought that Dylan captured the essence of my view of wealth – that there is more to life than the accumulation of money. Finally, using Wealth Itself as a domain name allowed me to introduce a bit of mystery to visitors: what does Wealth Itself mean?
I will be presenting novel ways of saving money and preserving wealth. And, I will also be presenting alternative views of the accumulation of wealth.
